Road to Bahia: Petropolis

First stop on the road to Bahia was Petropolis. This city, which was once the royal summer residence, has a number of museums that will give you insight to the times when Brazil was a kingdom. The best of them is the Imperial Palace. Even jus wandering around the town and viewing the interesting architecture of some of the mansions makes for a great afternoon. (See my previous post on Petropolis.)

However, this trip, we just took a rest. Lucky for me, my father-in-law has a weekend house where we chilled before our next segment.

We ate this delicious cartoon-looking fish for lunch.

(Followed by a yummy cheese späztle dinner, thank you German father-in-law.)

But for most of the day we relaxed by the fire.

As did our maltese Emily.

Next stop: Vitória, Espírito Santo. And probably some interesting places along the way…

About bornagainbrazilian

Having relocated from New York City to Sao Paulo, Brazil, I'm an expat attempting to broaden my horizons and adjust some of my American ways to be "born again" a Brazilian.
