Brazilian Challenge Day 193: Carnivale

It was time to get back to some Brazilian cocktails. So on Day 193 of my challenge to keep up my Brazilianess while in Chicago, we went to Carnivale. It is located on Fulton Market in an up-and-coming trendy area of Chicago reminiscent of the early hip days of New York’s Meat Packing District.

This latin lounge and restaurant looks like a bistro from the outside. When you get through the doors, you’ll think you’ve entered a a simple bar. But one doorway more will lead you to an a grand dining room with an explosion of color.

First item of order for me was the Prickly Pear caipirinha.

Delicious. While the restaurant offers various latin fare, including, of course, rice and beans, we opted for the ceviche sampler. Yum!
