Saturday, day 161 of my Brazilian challenge, we enjoyed a delicious dessert – goiabada com queijo.
You may not find this delicacy much around Sao Paulo, it is typical of Minas Gerias and the proper cheese partner comes from the same region.
Goiabada itself is made from guava fruit, water and sugar, which forms a gelatinous kind of cake. On its own, it is very sweet. But coupled with the more bland Minas cheese, it becomes a delicious treat.
