Flash mobs? Flash dance? Flash back.

When the term “flash mob” was first introduced to me, it was via horror stories from friends and family in the U.S. about mobs of gang members shaking down innocent and trapped victims.

Only recently have I come to understand that people have taken this concept and turned into an amazing art form. (Yes, I am apparently that out of touch with the world. If it doesn’t happen on Dora the Explorer or The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills… I don’t know about it.)

I love my country… and India and Canada… for keeping this concept positive (even if somewhat commercial). There’s still hope for the human race.

But my very favorite, original musical flash mob took place at Jim Henson’s Memorial Service…

Rest in peace Mr. Henson. Your work meant a lot to me as a child and continues to mean a lot to me and to my daughter as your fuzzy friends make our time together extraordinary.
